I'm not going to WisCon this year. I have reasons, which are complicated and interlocking, but it basically boils down to preferring to choose to regret not going over choosing to regret going.

I'm glad lots of other people are happily going, and I will happily read and listen to tales of what happened. Have an excellent time in Madison, folks.

Me too. Not getting to talk more to nifty faraway people is one of the downsides of this decision.

I am deliberately making no promises about next year, but I think it's likely. :)

You could maybe come out to Ohio and then just hang around for a few weeks, too! (Striiiiings!)

That might be interesting to explain at work. :) "I'm taking the month off to go to a string conference, do some wandering around the Midwest, and go to a sf conference."

If you are interesting in coming to strings next year, I encourage it. It was a lot of fun. I can be person-you-already-know backup.
